Stillness of Becoming – A Dartmoor inspired exhibition coming this June

Stillness of Becoming

A Dartmoor inspired collection by painter Louise Bougourd

This June, No. 10 Gallery in Chagford hosts an exhibition that explores the emotive power of the Dartmoor landscape. Painter Louise Bougourd is an award-winning artist and plein air sketcher who translates the impressions she records in her notebooks into large scale paintings at her studio. In this new collection, titled Stillness of Becoming, she captures the
grandeur of Devon’s most definitive landscape in a series of works that illuminate the connection between inspirational scenery and depth of human feeling. Bright blue skies, white cloud formations, dark rainclouds and impending storms reflect the everchanging atmosphere of the moor, and the subtleties of the way our souls respond.

Exhibition reception with strawberries and cream Saturday 20th June, 11am – 3pm

Louise will be on hand to greet visitors and to discuss her working practice.

All welcome. No booking required.

Louise Bougourd lives and works on the eastern edge of Dartmoor in Devon, and makes collections inspired by great British landscapes, from the raw beauty of the East Coast to the Atlantic edge of West Cornwall.
