Torbay hosts two-day programme designed to change fashion from the bottom up

This October, Torbay will step onto the national stage as it hosts its first-ever Sustainable Fashion Week (SFW) Hub, part of the UK-wide campaign running from 27th September – 5th October 2025.

Now in its fifth year, Sustainable Fashion Week is a community-led event that takes place to educate people against buying into the fast fashion system and to inspire them to start a new journey of empowered, sustainable style.

“Fashion, Reclaimed” is the 2025 theme and invites us to take the power back and collectively change our fashion habits.

Organised by Karen Anderson, the founder of Minycled Ltd, the Torbay Hub brings a bold programme designed to empower communities, inspire change, and spotlight the future of fashion.

Karen will be joined by other local creatives to lead a two-day celebration of fashion and sustainability in Torquay. A jam-packed schedule of speakers, workshops, and community events will take place.

Thursday 2nd October – Riviera International Centre (Torquay)

A full community day of ethical stalls, workshops, repair zones, talks, and student showcases, celebrating grassroots sustainability and slow fashion.

Friday 3rd October – Hilton Torquay Harbour

The highlight: The Green Catwalk. A runway that shines with upcycled collections,

reworked fashion, and sustainable design from designers, students, and emerging creatives. With only 80 seats available (£10pp), this exclusive evening promises to be a milestone in Torbay’s cultural calendar.

“Sustainable fashion isn’t just a trend, it’s a movement,” says Karen. “Hosting SFW Torbay is about giving our community, especially young voices, the platform to show how creativity and conscience can walk hand-in-hand.”
